When I first heard about drinking Aloe Vera, it was back in the early 1980’s, when my mother was in her early sixties developing breathing problems and was prescribed prednisone. She was introduced to drinking Aloe Vera, which I believe helped her recover from the breathing problems and she lived until the fall of 2012 at the age of 94 with no major health issues.
In the fall of 2008 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. A dear friend told me about Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel, which especially helped me through the chemotherapy treatment ordeal. I believe that drinking the Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel helped me with minimal side effects in comparison to the expected side effects advised by the medical professionals.
Then in the fall of 2014, Buddy our dog developed an autoimmune disease and was prescribed prednisone. Buddy’s health was failing and a decision had to be made. At that time I decided to try Aloe Vera Gel in his food.
It’s 2016, I am happy to say, I am a cancer survivor and Buddy, the dog recovered from the disease and is doing well for an 11 year old senior doggy. There is no doubt that Aloe Vera Gel played a major part in the healing and recovery of the dog, me and my mom.

I became interested in the C9 program when my sister-in-law told me about her success with it. I am a dance teacher, and a rock climber, so I live a pretty active lifestyle, but I wanted to cut fat, for a leaner, more toned look.
I kept track of my physical progress, as well as how I was feeling throughout the nine days, so that I could recommend the product and give advice to first time users. I formatted my review in four stages, just how it will appear when you start the cleanse for yourself.

ALOE VERA GEL: The very first part of the cleanse that you will experience is the Aloe Vera Gel, which has been proven to have fantastic benefits for your health, and appearance. The only thing that is not fantastic about it is the taste. Most people do not have a problem with it, but for some reason, it was difficult for me UNTIL I discovered a trick that got me through the remaining 8 days:
Aloe Vera Gel Tip: Follow your shot of Aloe Gel with a bite of a “free” food from the C9 list, and remember the benefits FAR outweigh the taste!
I found that HALOS (mandarin oranges) were the best at masking the taste of the Gel, however APPLES, and GRAPES also worked wonders.
GARCINIA and THERM TABLETS: Possibly my favorite part of the cleanse experience was the energy and focus that came from the Garcinia and Therm supplements. I had more motivation to do normal tasks, and my workouts were better than ever! Plus, they were easy to take, and had no bad aftertaste.
FOREVER FIBER: The Fiber packets helped a lot with curbing hunger, and best of all, they dissolved easily, and were tasteless when consumed in a glass of water.
FOREVER LITE ULTRA SHAKES: YUM! Seriously, that about sums up how I feel about the shakes. I had never tried a protein powder before starting C9, so I had no idea what to expect. I choose the Chocolate flavor, and throughout the process, created some delicious shake recipes that I have continued to use even after completing the cleanse! I LOVE to eat, so I expected to be absolutely starving every day. However, I was happily surprised at how full the shakes made me feel, even while the fat was dropping off of my body.

Biceps: 9 ½ (1/4 inch gain, which was my goal for rock climbing)

My initial thought on the morning of Day 3 was “WOW!” In just two days I had already begun to see changes in my body, and overall feeling of health. I had gained muscle mass where I wanted to tone up, and lost inches of fat from my waist, hips, and thighs!
Throughout the cleanse I kept active, but did not go out of my way to increase my exercise level. I kept teaching dance classes, walking the dogs, and went rock climbing 4-5 times per week (which is my normal routine).
MORE SHAKES: The cleanse changes on day 3 to incorporate a Forever Lite Ultra shake for lunch, as well as a 600 calorie meal for dinner. You have cleansed your body of the toxins that you ingest from processed foods and now are ready to begin filling it with what it really needs!
FREE FOODS: Thank goodness for these! If you are a naturally active person, you might have more trouble curbing the hunger that you will experience from changing the way you think about and consume calories. That’s ok, because you have a long list of healthy foods to choose from when you feel a craving. The best part is that you are training your body to crave HEALTHY foods, and these cravings will continue even after you are done with the program. I find that I crave healthier snacks after completing C9, because my body loved the nourishment that it got from the natural sugars found in fruits and veggies.

As you consume more calories during the later stages of the cleanse, you will not see as dramatic weight loss as you do on the first 2 days, however, what you WILL see is your body toning up and your muscles showing through! Even though I only technically lost ¼ inch from day 3 to day 6, I could see my muscles through the lessening layer of fat that covers them, even without flexing!
Days 3-9 tip: Get creative with your 600 calorie meals!
You will be surprised how few calories there are in natural foods. You might think that 600 calories is just not enough to satisfy you, but some of the things I was able to make in under 600 calories include: Chicken Caesar Salad, Chipotle Glazed Salmon, Veggie Pasta, and even Tacos with Black Beans and Rice!

When I finished the C9 program I lost a total of 4 ¾ inches from my body, could see that my muscles were more clearly defined, and I felt energized and motivated to continue making healthy choices. There are challenges that come with ANY change that you make in your life, and of course the results from C9 will vary from person to person, but I’m sold! C9 will now be my go to program when I want to jump start weight loss, muscle gain, or when I need to get back on track with my fitness goals!
